I’m experimenting using a NodeMCU microcontroller & OLED display to make a clock. This version connected to WiFi and then asks a Network Time server for the time. It displays the time on the OLED display. I’m programming the NodeMCU using the Arduino IDE. This is the first time I’ve written code in a decade.
I’m planning to change the way this works by using a GPS module to get the time from the GPS system so it won’t need an Internet connection.
At the moment it’s assembled on a breadboard. I intend to assemble the finished clock on a SIP connector and 3D print a case.
